Personal statement

I am a clinical academic with an interest in rehabilitation and psychological approaches to support wellbeing in the context of health conditions. I am particularly interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and how to use psychological approaches to improve stroke rehabilitation and wellbeing in cancer.

I joined the University of Strathclyde in 2023 as a research fellow in clinical health psychology, part of a research group led by Prof Chris Graham, Professor of Clinical Psychology. My fellowship is attached to an NIHR funded trial evaluating a prehabilitation intervention in oncology (PROPEL).

Clinically, I work in the NHS as a clinical psychologist in a stroke service. I have previously worked in neurorehabilitation and chronic pain. I hold honorary contracts with the University of Glasgow (honorary lecturer) and the University of Warwick (honorary clinical research fellow).
